After fishing with Talltails Wednesday morning, me, my wife and the dogs headed up to Douglas for Thanksgiving.  I talked to Shoalmaster earlier the day before and he said he was bringing his boat to fish a pond on his in-laws land.  We got on the water around 3:00 with Shoalmaster Jr. (Jacob) to see what the pond was holding.  He said he had caught some decent crappie and bass in the past.

Shoalmaster starts off the afternoon with a nice crappie.

I was next with a bass.

Jacob follows up with his first crappie, a nice one at that.  He had the hot hand on the day and ended up with a mess of fish throwing a Beetle spin.

Not to be outdone, I finally landed a crappie.  We ended up with 12 nice ones.

Looks like a good time to me and like Jacob is on his way to becoming quite the fisherman.

Jacob is becoming quite the fisherman, and he did have the hot hand on the day.  Once the kid catches his first fish of the day, he gets serious.  It was good  running up with you.  A buddy of mine in Albany has bough a yak and has been taking it out around St. Marks in search for reds, but after talking to him Sat. night, he needs some tips from some experienced Yakkers.

He's welcome to come out with us anytime.

I'm also ready to head to Econfina whenever you can get down.

Good deal.  The tide should be pretty good.
