I am wanting to take my son fishing on Sat. It'll be our first round of fishing this season, only this time I have a 12' John boat with a trolling motor at my disposal. Anyone have a good suggestion on where to put in and have the best luck from in the Tallahassee area? We have always just shore fished in the rivers...first time being able to lake fish. Thanks in advance for the tips.

Miller's Landing on Lake Jackson would be an easy launch for bass fishing with that setup. I've launched my john boat there several times, even when the lake was low. Plenty of fishing in that area that you could cover with a trolling motor.

If you want to try the coast you could launch at Wakulla Beach. Just check the tides, cause it can get pretty low, but you should be fine with a john boat most the time there.

Good luck and let us know how you do!

if your fishing freshwater go to Lake Jackson, there are several landings around the lake and the lake has been on FIRE the last couple of weeks. Throw a worm rigged either carolina or texas style and some topwater plugs, the weather should be awesome, watch for other boaters, i heard the lake was been very busy, Good Luck!
