Couple tips for practicing calls.... I always drive around with a couple calls in the truck this time of year practicing pot calls or box calls at red lights. The beauty of diaphragm calls (mouth calls) is that they are hands free while driving.... in the woods too. Of course many people that use mouth calls place their hand up over their mouth so they technically aren't hands free anymore while hunting.
I also record my calls with my cell phone or camera and play them back to hear how I sound. I would recommend doing this at home or in the car while driving. I would also recommend recording at a distance or playing the calls back and standing several yards away. The call will sound differently than while you are playing the call. You'll be surprised that sometimes the call that didn't sound so good, actually sounds great.
Good luck to a great season.

Awesome post! I think I know what I'm doing Friday night, if I'm not sleeping in my truck in the woods (or maybe that would be a good time to record a few!). We should get together and do a few more.
