Turkey season is only 1 week away - does anyone know what they're gonna do yet?

Hopefully we will be posting a picture of a nice bird!

Actually, I'll probably go where I saw a few birds during deer season. Lost the lease I had been part of the past couple years, so I going back to my old places. Perhaps hunt some public lands at the end of the season once the crowd dies down.

I hear you can go to http://www.hunting-with-kenny.com and find out where to hunt on public land.  Management area birds at the end of the season are the hardest to kill though.  By that time they've seen it all.  If you're gonna hunt late season call-shy birds, then use a locator call and set yourself up in a good spot and hope he goes by.

I would agree that they've seen it all. I would also say that a locator call probably won't work to well. If you want to get that big bird, you'll be lucky if he gobbles at all. Perhaps a two year old bird will, but not a monster. Probably lose the decoys late in the year too..... just really depends on where you are hunting.

Those public land birds are probably better hunted later in the morning in the late season, when the hens have left to nest.  Less is definitely more when it comes to calling and decoys.
