I've always seemed to see more birds in the morning earlier on, then that reverses about mid-season.

RE: Scouting the lakes

Ive been out twice last week nothin.... Thought it was kinda early for the latter, but I've seen 'em. Nothing to get excited about yet. I've started to see big groups of mergansers on the holding ponds. I don't hunt 'em, but based on the usual timing, they are always about a month or so ahead of any respectable numbers of other migrators.

RE: Scouting the lakes

I'm assuming I'll get a phone call before this scouting trip....

RE: Scouting the lakes

Good chance we wont see crap yet, but at least we can drink a couple beers...... maybe we should just watch football and drink beer anyhow. :)

RE: Scouting the lakes

We need to get out on the water, season opens 2 weeks from Saturday!

Scouting the lakes

Anyone been out scouting the lakes?
